Doulas can do a great deal to provide pregnant women with information and practical alternatives so that they may give birth with confidence, strength and joy. Labouring women who feel confident and supported are much more likely to achieve satisfying outcomes than are women without such support. Services

As a natural doula, Jessica's goal is to provide continuous,, uninterupted care for the labouring woman and her partner. She will help them participate fully in their experience by offering physical and emotional support. Jessica also provides information about pregnancy, birth, available technology and natural alternatives. Jessica typically meets with a woman or couple prenatally to discuss birth expectations, share information regarding the birth process and assist in creating a well rounded birth plan. As a knowledgable labour assistant she has the ability to provide pregnant women with options, and practical alternatives so they may give birth with confidence, strength and joy. Jesssica will support you from the onset of established labour (or whenever you feel you need support) through to the birth of the baby and for one or two hours after the birth, or until you and your partner would like to be alone with your new baby. In the week after the birth, she will pay you a final visit to talk to you all about the birth and to "debrief" on the experience. She will also provide breastfeeding support and postpartum referrals if necessary. Your doula is always available for a chat on the phone or by email.
